and is available now.

The long awaited first CD of powerhouse vocalist Nora Cruz; entitledNORA CRUZ SEXTET'Six is Enough'was engineered by Andy Zenczak owner of Gadgetbox Studios and his assistant Patrick Brede. Nora extensively researched several studios in the Santa Cruz area and made a decision to record with Gadgetbox Studios after meeting with Andy who showed a great interest in Nora's strong commitment to stay true to the live original sound of the band, without over mixing or adding instrumentation and to diligently showcase Nora's voice in its purest form. Nora and Andy worked side by side from start to finish as Nora describes it as creating a painting with added attention to platform each song in a different genre. The newly released CD NORA CRUZ SEXTET 'Six is Enough' was mastered by Myles Boisen, owner of The Headless Buddha recording studio in Oakland, CA. , recommend by Andy Zenczak.

REVIEWS OF THE NEW CD ARE COMING IN!

Here is what Karl Bischoff over at our favorite local radio station KPIG has to say about the CD.

OK , Peeps..here`s a review of the new CD from Miz Nora Cruz and her sextet..I have listened to every track several times now. This is a great debut CD for a singer that has been paying her dues here in the Santa Cruz area for many years. This new recording is a real gem. It really represents her live shows. Nora is a vivacious live performer and this CD with her entire band present is her live show done in the studio. The band is tight and groovin`. Nora`s voice is strong and sultry. Her choice of tunes is perfect. Nora handles Jazz, Blues and R&B covers with equal skill and ferocity. This CD represents a good cross-section of styles. Nora and her band seem to breeze through them all with grace. There are some real fine covers done here and this is a real treat for her many fans to finally have a CD from her. Congrats Nora !! This is a big YAY !!!! Go out and get this one and definitely go see her live. Over and out

And here is what Ron Kaplan, jazz vocalist and president of Kapland Records had to say.

OK. Finished giving your cd a second listening. This time I enjoyed listening to each and every tune and appreciating your vocal approach to each one. I can say this... that you are a genuine blues woman with a highly competent instrument. I predict this recording will serve you well and open some additional doors of opportunity. That is my hope. It's nice to discover your talents, of which there are many I'm sure. Blues is the peoples music. It's great for dancing, drinking, and generally carrying on. You are top shelf and represent yourself well. Keep up the good works, as I know you will. I will look forward to your explorations in jazz, and more discussions about our craft. RK
